IRPC Public Company Limited (IRPC) has teamed up with I&I Group Public Company Limited (iiG), a digital and technology consulting firm, to develop an ESG Platform under the ATLAS project. This initiative marks the first deployment of Salesforce Net Zero Cloud technology in Thailand and the ASEAN region for corporate operations.

Mr. Kris Imsang, CEO and President of IRPC, stated that in response to the current climate change situation, IRPC is committed to advancing its business operations under the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework to foster sustainable growth while being mindful of the environment, society, and governance. The company is improving its operations and adopting new innovations, such as studying carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology and using artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance energy management efficiency. Investments in clean technology, the creation of floating solar farms to generate electricity for the company’s plastic production, and collaborations with experts are among the efforts being made. Moreover, IRPC is promoting a corporate culture focused on innovation and communication to ensure that employees and stakeholders are aligned towards a common goal.

To achieve its goals, including transparent public disclosure of ESG information, IRPC has collaborated with iiG to develop an ESG Platform using Salesforce Net Zero Cloud technology. This platform will facilitate the collection of accurate data, allowing for the analysis and interpretation of greenhouse gas emissions and ESG operations. It will enable effective planning, monitoring, and adjustment of IRPC’s ESG strategies in a timely manner.

Assistant Professor Dr. Chaiporn Phuprasert, an independent director and member of the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee (CGSC) at IRPC, commented that despite the current economic volatility, ESG practices may not yet be the primary factor in generating profits for organizations. However, ESG is the path to sustainability, which will have a positive impact on the financial outcomes of organizations in the long run, as well as create shared value for stakeholders, society, and the planet.

In addition to developing the ESG Platform using Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, IRPC has established the ESG Academy to cultivate personnel with a deep understanding of ESG principles. This knowledge can be applied effectively in operations. The ESG Academy is a collaboration between IRPC’s Strategy and Sustainability Department, the Carbon Institute for Sustainability, and the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University. Professor Dr. Pisuth Pianmanakul, Deputy Dean of Strategy, Innovation, and Sustainability at the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, and Director of the Carbon Institute for Sustainability (CBiS), is also contributing to the knowledge dissemination to IRPC employees.
